APPLICATION GUIDE

Prepare a new electricity connection application

Follow the official ENC workflow, keep your application record and distinguish a demand notice from an approval or an installed meter.

Decide which service you actually need

A first electricity connection, a name change and a load change are different requests. Start with the service available for your provider on the official ENC portal. If your provider or request is not listed, follow the utility’s published application instructions instead.

Prepare the address, intended connection use, requested load and applicant information carefully. The required evidence depends on the service, premises and applicant’s relationship to the property. Do not submit a generic downloaded checklist without checking the current portal instructions.

Build a document checklist from the application

Preparation categories, not a universal list of mandatory documents
Item to verifyWhy it matters
Applicant identityThe application must identify the person making the request. Use the identity documents the official form asks for.
Property / occupancy evidenceOwnership, tenancy or authorisation circumstances can require different supporting documents.
Connection purpose and loadThe requested category and approved load affect technical and billing treatment.
Location and contact detailsUse an accurate service address and reachable contact information.
Provider-specific attachmentsFollow the current ENC or utility checklist, including any declarations or required attestations.

Submit identity and property documents only to the official provider process. PakistanBillCheck does not receive, verify or store application documents.

Follow the application through its stages

  1. Apply through the official routeChoose the correct provider and service, complete the fields and upload what that application requests.
  2. Keep the tracking recordSave the application/tracking number and submitted copy. This is separate from a future electricity reference number.
  3. Respond to document or technical queriesReview the official status and provide corrections through the designated channel. Keep copies of any response.
  4. Handle a demand notice if issuedCheck its account/application details, amount, validity and authorised payment method. Retain the receipt and upload/submit proof where instructed.
  5. Wait for the provider’s remaining processA paid demand notice is not a promise that a meter is installed immediately. Technical approval, work and connection activation remain provider responsibilities.

Do not pay an intermediary solely because they promise an immediate meter or claim they can bypass the official process. Use documented charges and the provider’s authorised payment instructions.

Track the exact application, not a bill lookup

ENC tracking and duplicate-bill lookup solve different tasks. If no electricity bill exists yet, repeatedly entering an application number into a bill form will not create a result. Use the tracking number in the official application service.

If a status is unclear, ask for the outstanding step and any missing document rather than assuming rejection or approval. A fixed installation deadline or universal connection fee is not quoted here because the category and current process matter.

Common problems to avoid

  • Selecting a provider from a broad city guess instead of checking the application service.
  • Using a tariff category that does not match the intended connection.
  • Uploading unreadable or incomplete documents.
  • Confusing a demand-notice receipt with completed installation.
  • Losing the tracking number and starting another application without checking the first.
