PAYMENT WALKTHROUGH

Pay a utility bill with a clear record

Check the biller and account before payment, keep the transaction reference, and know what to do if the status is uncertain.

Choose a supported payment channel

Start from your bank or wallet’s bill-payment service, or a collection channel named by the utility. The list of supported billers varies. Search for the company printed on the current bill and use the identifier requested by that payment service.

Payment routes depend on provider and bank support
RouteCheck before using it
Bank or wallet appCorrect utility/biller entry, fetched account details and payable amount.
ATM or online bankingBill-payment facility and the instructions for your provider.
Authorised counterThe accepted bill, official receipt and transaction details.
Provider payment linkDestination and account details on the provider’s official website.

A personal bank transfer is not automatically a utility payment. Do not invent a 1Bill prefix, append random digits or use a social-media payment link to make a number fit. The correct identifier comes from the biller and payment service.

Use a five-point check before confirming

  1. Match the companyElectricity and gas providers can have similar names. Check the full biller entry, not just its colour or icon.
  2. Match the accountCompare the fetched customer/service details or account reference with the issued bill.
  3. Match the amount and dateReview which due-date amount is shown and whether any earlier balance is included.
  4. Authorise only in the trusted serviceKeep passwords, PINs and OTPs inside the legitimate bank or wallet process. This website never needs them.
  5. Save the resultKeep the transaction reference, amount, biller, date and final status. Retain a private copy of the receipt.

A downloaded bill and a transaction receipt are different records. Keep both if a later balance needs investigation. Do not mark an account settled solely because a page opened or a bank sent a debit notification.

If money was debited but the payment is uncertain

Open the payment service’s own transaction history. “Pending”, “failed”, “reversed” and “successful” describe different states. Confirm the account identifier on the transaction before contacting the service.

Avoid paying twice just to test it

Ask the payment provider about the first transaction and keep its reference. If the provider shows success but the utility balance remains disputed, request reconciliation through the official utility channel.

Ask the payment service when it expects a pending transaction or reversal to finish, and keep its case reference. A bank transaction and the next utility bill can update at different times.

Treat each QR code according to its label

A QR code can open information, a bill, a subsidy explanation or a payment flow. It is not necessarily permission to debit an account. Preview the destination, read the surrounding label and confirm the biller and amount inside the trusted payment app. See the QR-code guide for a decision checklist.

Make a payment query actionable

For a provider inquiry, record the billing month, utility reference, amount and transaction reference. Explain the mismatch: for example, the bank marks a transaction completed while an older balance remains on the bill. Send these details only through the bank or utility’s official complaint process.

For a broken link on PakistanBillCheck, contact the site owner without supplying a full bill, bank receipt or identity document. We cannot inspect a payment ledger or reverse a transaction.

We do not collect payments or charge for opening these official links. Any fee shown by a payment service belongs to that service and should be reviewed before authorising.

Should I share an OTP with someone checking my bill?

No. Checking a duplicate bill through this helper does not require a banking OTP.
