A QR code is a link, not a single kind of service
A printed code may open bill information, a subsidy explanation, a verification page or a payment journey. Determine its purpose from the label on the actual issued bill and the destination your scanner previews. The label and destination can differ between providers and bill versions.
A code that opens an information page is not automatically a code you can use to pay the bill. A code that opens a payment service still requires you to verify the biller, account and amount before authorising a transaction.
Use this three-step check
- Read the surrounding labelLook for whether the bill describes information, subsidy, verification or payment. If the label is unclear, use the provider’s published instructions.
- Preview the destinationCheck the domain and the purpose of the page before submitting anything. A familiar logo alone does not establish that a website is official.
- Continue only with the matching actionRead information on an information page; confirm payments only inside a supported trusted payment flow. Never provide a banking OTP to a page merely claiming it can reveal a subsidy.
The provider directory and bill helper can open the official portal directly. No camera access or QR upload is requested by this site.
A displayed subsidy is not necessarily money to claim
A bill may explain the relationship between an underlying cost or determined tariff and the amount charged under an applicable tariff. Such an informational subsidy figure is not automatically a cash balance, refund entitlement or payment credit for the customer.
Look for the precise label and calculation period on the provider’s document. Do not subtract the displayed information again from the amount payable unless the official bill explicitly treats it as a credit.
Do not compare different price bases
| Figure | What to establish first |
|---|---|
| Determined tariff or supply-cost figure | Its category, unit and period, and whether it is informational. |
| GoP applicable energy rate | The notified residential category and any applicable slab treatment. |
| Final payable bill | The included fixed charges, taxes, adjustments, prior balance and credits. |
For example, the difference between an energy-rate estimate and a tax-inclusive payable total is not proof of a subsidy. The calculator explicitly labels its base-only result so that comparison is not mistaken for a final bill.
If the code fails or looks suspicious
Open the utility website using a known official address instead of repeatedly following an uncertain code. Preserve the bill for a provider query. If you share an image to ask about the layout, redact the QR code and account details because scannable content may identify the account.
Use the official provider complaint route for a billing discrepancy. For a broken explanatory link on this guide, contact PakistanBillCheck without sending a full private bill.
Questions you may have
Can this website tell me my exact subsidy from a QR code?
No. We do not scan private bill codes or retrieve account records. Read the information and methodology on the official bill or provider page.
Should I deduct the displayed subsidy from the payable total?
Do not deduct it a second time unless the official bill explicitly instructs that treatment. Ask the provider to explain an unclear line.
