A factory, shop and home can use different tariffs. Check the category printed on the FESCO bill before comparing rates or using a residential estimate.
Start with the tariff printed on the bill
FESCO supplies different kinds of connections. The building’s appearance is not a reliable tariff test: a home with a separate business meter can have two accounts with different categories. Read the tariff description and sanctioned load from the actual bill you opened.
| Your bill shows | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Residential / A-1 | The residential schedule, protected status if applicable, and approved load. |
| Commercial / business | The commercial category on the issued bill; a domestic estimate is not a substitute. |
| Industrial / workshop | The relevant industrial schedule, demand information and any ToU registers. |
This is a reading aid rather than a tariff reassignment. If the printed category appears inconsistent with the connection, ask FESCO about its change process. Do not select a cheaper category in a calculator and treat that result as the amount you owe.
Get the FESCO account you intended
- Take the reference from a FESCO copyUse all 14 digits, including any leading zero. A meter serial number identifies equipment and is not the same field.
- Check the service addressAfter opening the PITC result, compare its address and meter details. This is particularly useful where a property has more than one connection.
- Keep the billing period with the amountWhen comparing two copies, compare their reading dates and current charges. Arrears can belong to another period.
If an account search does not find the bill, re-check the printed company and identifier. A failed lookup does not prove the account is closed, unpaid or disconnected. Those are separate account questions for the utility.
Compare similar bills
A useful comparison holds the tariff category and billing period constant. A home’s rupee-per-unit average includes whatever taxes, fixed charges and adjustments appear on that copy; it is not automatically the energy rate for another FESCO customer.
Use the residential calculator only after checking the category and load. It keeps energy and fixed charges separate, with its source and exclusions visible.
For payment, confirm the account and current due amount in your bank or provider’s supported payment channel. Save its transaction reference. A calculator result, copied screenshot or paid receipt for a different meter cannot settle this account.
Separate a wrong bill from an account change
A wrong recorded reading is a billing dispute. A change of customer name, approved load or connection category is an account-service request. Preparing the right request saves you from submitting an unrelated complaint. The connection guide and account-change guide explain the documents and official routes to check.
FESCO support and complaints
For a FESCO reading, balance or supply issue, use PITC’s electricity complaint portal or the complaint contact printed on your current bill. Save the case number so you can follow up on the same issue.
For an error in this guide, contact PakistanBillCheck with the page link and the sentence or broken link. Leave out your private account details.
Questions you may have
Can I estimate a FESCO factory bill here?
The calculator is residential only. Use FESCO’s applicable industrial schedule and bill data for a factory or industrial connection.
Is the reference different from the meter number?
Yes. Copy the identifier under Reference No for this helper. For Customer ID, use the matching option on the official FESCO lookup.
Why do two FESCO bills with similar units differ?
First compare their tariff category, approved load, billing period, adjustments and previous balance. Units alone do not determine the final payable total.
